2009 International Plastics Pipe exchange conference, co-hosted by China Plastic Piping Association (CPPA) and Plastic Pipes Conference Association (PPCA) on 4-5^th November, has come to an end successfully in Beijing. It was the first time for CCPA to organize the international exchange conference with foreign associations of plastic pipe industry ,aiming to further strengthen international exchanges and cooperation, improve the technical level of China Plastic Piping Association and the overall competitiveness of plastic pipes industry and promote the sustainable development of China Plastic Pipes Industry.

China has become the largest plastic pipes country of manufacturing and application in the world. The production and application of China plastic pipes has reached to 4.6 million tons in 2008. We have made great progress in increasing products’ varieties, strengthening products’ quality consciousness and improving industry concentrating ratio and technical level. But we still fall behind in the production concepts, quality management, technical level and etc. compared with developed countries.

The main themes at this exchange conference are the material and quality, application and market prospect, construction and installation of plastic pipes. Experts from Singapore, Japan, U.S.A, Australia, U.K., Germany, Belgium and other European countries made speeches on Trends in PE Pressure Pipe Market in Europe, Development of Multilayer Pipe Constructions, Destructive and Non-destructive Testing of welds in PE pipes , Sustainable Sewerage :the Challenge to Come and etc., while some domestic experts made presentations on The Status ,Development and Trend of China Plastics Pipe, Study on Oxygen Permeability of the Pipes Applied for Cold and Hot Water, Molecular weight 9 200 000 UHMWPE Pipe Extrusion Product Initial Approach to Whole Life Costing of Water Supply Pipeline in Shanghai, The Current Situation and Development Trend of Heat Stabilizers for PVC-U Pipes in China and etc. There was also an exhibition of new technology, material, equipment and etc. at the conference.

There were about 260 attendees participated in the exchange conference including the material and production equipment suppliers and tube-making enterprises of plastic pipes from home and abroad.
