Borouge’s Water for the World™ on World Water Day 2010

About 4 million people in the world will benefit from Borouge’s Water for the World™ before 2015.

March 22nd, 2010 is the 18th World Water Day, and it also marks the beginning of China Water Week. The UN has given World Water Day 2010 the theme of "clean water for a healthy world", reflecting the significance of the precious resource to our very existence. Borouge, a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions, looks forward to the next 12 months on World Water Day, March 22, 2010: about 4 million people in the world will benefit from Borouge’s Water for the World™ before 2015.

Borouge will continue with its Water for the World activities in Asia in 2010.

In 2010, Borouge will continue with its Water for the World activities in India, Vietnam and China to improve the local knowledge of the benefits of plastics systems in water supply and sanitation. It will continue to undertake local reference projects to support this programme and bring water to needy areas around the world.

In addition, Borouge will work with its customers to expand its range of irrigation products to improve systems manufacture and develop financial and environmental models to help promote the use of micro-irrigation systems. This will help reduce water consumption in agriculture and improve crop yield to meet the food needs of the world’s growing population.
