2013 INTERNATIONAL PLASTIC PIPE EXCHANGE IN CHINA
The international Plastic Pipes Conference will host its first ever affiliated event in Xi’an during 5–6 September 2013, at the Jianguo Hotel Xi'an. The INTERNATIONAL PLASTIC PIPE EXCHANGE CONFERENCE is the convention and exhibition event that will preview the latest developments in plastic pipe technology alongside experience gained by major utility, sewer, building and civil engineering sectors in Asia.
Zoran Davidovski, chairman for the organizing committee explains: “The first PVC pipe was produced in Shanghai in the nineteen fifties. Over the last five years, China has become the world’s largest producer and consumer of plastic pipes with annual sales volumes exceeding 11 million tons.”
“Reasons for this phenomenal growth are evident and based on the recognition that modern plastic pipe systems offer more durable and effective solutions. In addition to replacement of aging steel and concrete water and sewer pipes, the market has been defined by intensive urbanization and a rapid development in manufacturing capacity to meet the demand. A further impulse stems from regional earthquake experience. Due to their flexibility, plastic pipe systems absorb seismic shocks and continue to function.”
The choice of China for creating this conference and exhibition is therefore based on the acceptance of plastic pipe technology in this region and on the need to share latest developments in the field of new plastic pipes systems, installation methods, manufacturing and environmental assessments.
Plastic Pipe Conferences always provide an important communications platform for raw material suppliers, producers, consultants, technical institutes and major providers of mains gas, water and sewer services. Nearly 30 individual presentations have been confirmed for the INTERNATIONAL PLASTIC PIPE EXCHANGE CONFERENCE in China. In addition to regional issues, a full market overview is planned and will include significantly relevant presentations from PPXVI. These will include several market studies, new manufacturing techniques, pipe performance within the oil and gas industry, European product declarations and new developments in PVC and PE pipe systems.
Major sponsors of the event are the Baerlocher Group, a leading additive supplier and Floridienne Chimie, specializing in producing stabilizers for the plastics industry. Organizers report various opportunities for further sponsorship participation. It is also important to note that the event is organized by China Plastics Piping Association (CPPA).
The Plastic Pipes Conference is the world’s largest and most international convention and exhibition event of its kind. Held every two years, the next major venue will be in Chicago, 22-24 September 2014.
